The eye behind the lens
Maren Solberg is a Portland-based photographer whose work explores the intersection of natural light, human emotion, and place. After studying fine art at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, she established Elara Studio in 2018.
Her work has been published in Aperture, Kinfolk, The California Sunday Magazine, and CEREAL. She has exhibited at the Portland Art Museum, Photographic Center Northwest, and Blue Sky Gallery.
I believe photography at its best reveals what we already know but haven't yet seen. My work prioritizes natural light, authentic expression, and the quiet moments between posed frames.
I shoot primarily on medium format film and digital, choosing the medium that best serves each project. Every commission begins with a conversation about vision, mood, and story.
